Public Notary

A Florida Notary Public is a state-authorized official who serves as an impartial witness for signatures, oaths, affidavits, and other important documents to help prevent fraud and verify identity. Florida notaries may also perform marriage ceremonies and remote online notarizations when properly authorized.

The primary function of a notary is to authenticate and certify legal documents. By doing so, documents such as deeds, contracts, and wills become recognized as public documents by the State. This is especially important in legal proceedings, as public documents carry a presumption of authenticity, validity, and legality before the courts.
